Your First Visit

Welcome to the practice of Dr. Michael W. Cox! We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit with us. With 4 locations to better serve you in: Summerville, North Charleston/Summerville, Goose Creek and Walterboro, SC , your first visit will consist of a visual examination at which time we will determine if there is a problem that orthodontics can address, and if so which treatment option is right for you. We know that the anticipation of an office visit may be a bit stressful, so we will work to always make sure you’re at ease and comfortable while in our office. At this time we will also provide an estimate of the treatment time and the available payment options.

Your first visit to one of our conveniently located offices is at no charge, and at the very least is a great opportunity to ask all of your orthodontics questions:

• Do I have a condition that orthodontics can fix?
• Do I need braces?
• Do I need treatment or braces right now, or should I wait?
• Which braces or treatment is right for me?
• How long will my orthodontic treatment take?
• How much will it cost?
• What are my payment options?
• Will my insurance be accepted?

If Dr. Cox feels that you are ready for orthodontic treatment, an appointment will be set up to make study records, which allow us to determine your specific plan of treatment. If time permits, the study records can be made during your first visit exam, saving you a trip back to our office.

To help save time, please bring the following items with you to your first visit:

• Completed Adult Health History Form or Child Health History Form
• Insurance card and/or forms
